OUR HISTORY

 

The early 1970's was a time of spiritual awakening. God stirred hearts with the earnest desire for authentic biblical reality as revealed in the New Testament. In the home of Mary Sager believers began to gather regularly for spiritual fellowship, worship, prayer and praise. Several young people were saved dramatically and joined this nucleus. In 1974 a pastor was recognized and God providentially led in giving us a solid gospel focus through the corporate study of the book of Romans. It was during this time we became convinced of the doctrines of grace. These early discoveries established a lasting pattern of gospel focus, strong mission emphasis, prayer, spiritual fellowship and the importance of doing all things for the purpose of 'glorifying God and enjoying Him'. Our faith has been tested and tried. We discover that God exalts His strength in our weakness. He has been merciful and gracious to us in so many ways. His goodness and mercy follow us all our days. His promises are great and precious and all 'yea and amen' in Jesus Christ. He faithfully leads us by his Holy Spirit into the truth and works in us to will and do of His good pleasure. We are thankful to be part of God's work and bless Him for His shepherding care and provision. One basic lesson of faith we began with is that without Jesus we can do nothing - John 15. We need Him always and forever. Jesus Christ is our 'all in all'.
